We visited with family for my graduation , and we were absolutely in heaven with the menu. Each dish offered an incredibly balanced pairing of flavors and textures. Every ingredient had a purpose, the seasonal selection, sourced locally from England, often told a story about traditional, forgotten dishes inspired by international cuisine. The experience included 10 dishes with wine pairing, perfectly dosed, neither too much nor too little, with just enough bites to appreciate every taste. For me, this totally deserves a Michelin star. I would definitely come again and highly recommend it. Chef Andy and his team will go far!
Behind was, without question, the best Michelin one-star restaurant I have ever experienced—easily on par with many two-star restaurants. The 10-course tasting menu was exceptional from start to finish. Every dish was thoughtfully conceived, beautifully executed, and showcased remarkable attention to detail. The wine pairings were equally well considered, complementing each course perfectly and enhancing the overall experience. What truly set Behind apart was the atmosphere. Despite the precision and sophistication of the food, the environment felt relaxed, welcoming, and entirely focused on the guests’ enjoyment.
Super friendly stuff, explaining the food great and engaging in casual conversation. Food was very unique with great presentation and taste, felt cozy even as a solo diner.
Exceptional food, impeccable and personal service with an outstanding and unique atmosphere. Nothing but 5 star as these 3 elements connect each other into one unique immersive night.
A truly outstanding seafood tasting menu in a great setting. Course after course of perfectly curated dishes, bursting with flavour and texture. Stand out dishes featured grey mullet, brill and red shrimp. Also, a great wine pairing, including a memorable glass of Krug.
Behind is the best One Star I’ve been to in London, feels like it’s punching above its weight. The atmosphere is relaxed and inviting with amazing hosting by Head Chef Andy and his small team. The open kitchen and chefs table layout make for a great energy. Fish focused tasting menu was superb. Delicious, inventive (but thoughtful, never at the expense taste).
Three visits to Behind, and it keeps getting better. Andy and his team have built something genuinely special in London Fields — an intimate 18-seat horseshoe counter where the chefs cook, plate, and serve every course themselves. The food is impeccable. Seafood-focused, seasonal, endlessly creative — each course surprises you while feeling completely considered. The scallop dish in particular is the kind of thing you think about long after the meal is over. Service is warm, genuine, and completely unpretentious.
Blimey the lunch was good. Amazing value when you think about the effort that goes into crafting all the dishes. Would go back in a heartbeat. Loved the concept. Great that all the staff interact. Thoroughly recommend
Top tier cooking and service. Chefs are passionate about their craft and the innovation is visible in the food. One of the best in London. Highly recommended.
